Awesome Tour!! Thanks Chris for a great behind-the-scenes tour. Highly recommended.

Amazing wine tour! Chris took us to some wonderful boutique wineries, as well as a brewery. He is extremely knowledgeable and flexible! We had a blast! Never felt rushed and were able to see many of the gems Dundee has to offer. Cannot wait to have Chris take my family around when they visit this fall.

We recently went on a wine tour with Chris and it was fantastic! Chris was incredibly knowledgeable and provided as much (or as little) insight and information as we wanted at each stop. He picked incredible wineries and has such a great understanding of the area and the winemakers that it is truly and insider’s tour. In fact, Chris himself is a local winemaker and grower. Very fun and interesting to hear what’s going on.

In addition to the knowledge and expertise Chris brings to the tour, he’s just a really great, fun guy to spend a day with. It was a blast! I highly recommend Chris and Access Oregon Wine Tours. You will not be disappointed with your choice.

I cannot say enough about the great time we had with Chris of Access Oregon Wine Tours. He picked us up in a roomy SUV, stocked with bottled water, from our hotel in downtown Portland and whisked us away to the Willamette Valley for an afternoon of wine tasting.

Not only does Chris have extensive knowledge of wines and wine-making but he has an amazing understanding of the different wineries in the area from the wines themselves to how busy a tasting room will be (and if it’s worth it). If you have an idea of some places you want to go, great, if not he has fantastic suggestions. Plus he was just fun to hang out with for the afternoon!

My friends and I would definitely book a tour with him again and would recommend to anyone we know to do the same!

Chris was friendly, funny, and very knowable about the area and the wine. We visited four wineries spending significant time at each to try the wines they were sampling, enjoy the beautiful views, and chat. Chris provided bottled water on the tour and the vehicle was comfortable and clean, even with 6 of us! I did this tour with friends for a bachelorette party but it would also be perfect for a romantic getaway trip or as a way to get an ‘insider’s view’ on the best wineries in the area. We got lucky and had a perfect sunny day in March but even if it had been raining the tour would still have been delightful. I highly recommend Chris and Access Oregon Wine Tours!

A tour with Chris was one activity during a two-plus week tour in Washington and Oregon this summer. Since returning home and recounting our trip to family and friends, I inevitably hear myself saying, “the wine tour in the Willamette region of Oregon is the best thing we did,” which is often swiftly followed by, “And our driver was so cool!”

It goes without saying that Chris’s job title goes far beyond “driver” (e.g. wine expert, joke/winemaker, etc.), and my adjective of choice can be enhanced with several additional descriptors (e.g. knowledgeable, down-to-earth, ginormously tall). While he is arguably the B.F.G. of the Dundee hills, he also didn’t dominate the conversation with wine stats and pretentious babble about tannins. He waited instead to figure out what we wanted to know, and then happily obliged a barrage of Google-style questioning on our part (e.g. “What percentage of all wine in the US is produced in Oregon?”).

Probably our favorite aspect of the tour overall was how low-key and comfortable it was. Not once were we made to feel silly for our lack of wine know-how; in fact, Chris essentially told us to trust our palates and like what we like. That’s the kind of anti-wine snobbery lingo I can appreciate. Moreover, it was easy to find wines we liked in Oregon, and we have since recommended both Willamette and Chris to many people on the east coast and back home in the Netherlands.

We booked Chris a while ago. Much of that decision was based on reviews I read here on Tripadvisor. We were totally satisfied with Chris. Not only did he put together a good itinerary, he also made some good last minute changes based on what he learned about our tastes in wine. He was very knowledgeable about the wineries, the grapes they used the growing conditions and the terroir. Also, he does know a thing or two about local beer producers if you are interested. He is highly recommended without any reservations.

Chris did an excellent job of sharing his knowledge of the Dundee Hills APA and of the grape growing and winemaking techniques. He was affable, an active listener and made every part of the day special. After spending the day with Chris, our understanding of Pinot Noir and Oregon Chardonnay has been greatly enhanced. Chris being in the wine business himself allows him to give a unique perspective to the tour. We visited only boutique wineries which were very interesting. As a bonus, Chris took us to meet a local beer maker, where we tasted some terrific craft beer. We have taken a number our tours in wine regions and Chris provided us with the best experience thus far. When we return, Chris will be our guide.

Chris made this day a special one. His knowledge of the Dundee area means you can focus on the really special wineries and avoid the barkers. Chris picked us up in downtown Portland, took us to a small, special family winery to start the day, then took us to Red Hills Market to pick up lunch, which we enjoyed on the deck at Domaine Drouhin. We made several other enjoyable winery stops, then finished the day with some of the finest beer I’ve ever tasted. Great choice to clear the palate after several hours of tasting a lot of different wines. Really looking forward to our next tour with Chris.
